Perfume Notes: Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne
Buying someone perfume can be tricky as fragrance is such a personal choice (or ‘fun’ if your nose and nostrils enjoy acrobatics!).
Best Products for Spot Prone Skin
Between the age of 13 and 18 I seldom got spots. And then, when I was 19, a mere 3 weeks before starting university, I suddenly got a number of big, bright red blemishes that wouldn’t go away. I knew I had to do something as I didn’t want my confidence knocked just as I was going to meet lots of new people at uni. Although I didn’t quite manage to completely ‘cure’ the spot situation, I got it under control using these products. Phew!
Beauty Pick-Me-Ups
Sometimes it’s the little changes in beauty that can make all the difference. Unimpeachably uplifting time savers and luxury skincare champions, gather around my camera and pose/poise to be snapped.
The Ultimate Hand Care Guide
My hands. Sometimes good for jazz and flashy haptic flashes. But often not good at bending. My fingers crack and bleed. Skin struggles to stay connected.
As an eczema sufferer for over 10 years, I’ve tried almost every hand cream available from cheap supermarket own brand lotions to high-end luxury hand balms. I’m frequently asked for advice when it comes to hand care simply because everyone knows I’m never without a tube of hand cream on me! So here are my favourite hand creams and I’ve explained my hand care routine that I’ve created over the last few years to help treat my severely dry, inflamed and irritated skin.
The Secret Miracle Workers

Inspired by the ‘Glamour On The Go’ exhibition I thought I would share the contents of my bag and makeup bag when I’m out for the day covering a story. No one should cart around such an exhaustive makeup kit worthy of a massive Zuca makeup bag (unless of course you’re an actual makeup artist, in which case go right ahead!) so I’ve pared down the contents to the absolute essentials. Some days I’ll be carting around what feels like half of Boots in my bag and then I’ll do a clear out, always keeping the same, carefully curated goods each time.
Glamour On The Go Exhibition
I wrote this for the Essential Surrey website – essentialsurrey.co.uk.
Our choice of make-up reveals interesting little things about us, while paradoxically covering us up. Trends in cosmetics reinforce current beauty ideals, social attitudes and economic conditions. With this truism in mind, an exhibition that explores the evolution of make-up and its shifting form and function is surely the most glamorous way to track and digest these changes.

Nude makeup
Nude makeup has been the done thing for a little while now. Palettes with a cheery plethora of soft pinks and muted browns, peachy blushers and barely there lipstick have dominated the catwalk and beauty shelves… and it’s not difficult to see why.
