The sweatshirt has been centre stage for a little while now, thanks to the ubiquitous Sports Lux trend. Big, basic… and beautiful. Draped over a delicate dress in Summer or worn with a pair of tan jodhpurs (too much Surrey?) it has definitely proved itself to be a very versatile little item. And it’s here to stay.
If you’re worried that, when in full sweatshirt mode, you’ll be mistaken for being en route to the gym when in fact you’re on your way to a birthday celebration at a new concept-pop-up-Scandi-bakery in central London, then fear not. I admit I’m not very worldly in the fitness-wear arena (my Sweaty Betty Yoga Pants have never been worn for their designed purpose) I can, however, confirm that sweatshirts are not (just) for exercise. So hold the leggings – unless we’re talking cashmere or Helmut Lang leather ones – and treat it well and dress it up!
I favour the simple, pretty sweatshirt over the LOUD LOGO loco ones. But it’s up to you. Bring out your dearest gold jewellery, skinny jeans and over the knee boots, spritz on your favourite Chanel Les Exclusifs perfume and you’re good to go!
Sweatshirt: Jigsaw in the sale! Was £49 now £24
Gap skinny jeans: £44.95.
Over the knee boots, Jigsaw (last year) but similar ones here from Carvela £200.
That’s a cute look! I love the boots 🙂 me too loves the sweatshirt ..!
Thank you very much!
