A large film crew was seen shooting a film starring Dame Helen Mirren and Sir Ian McKellan in Fetcham on Wednesday 25th April.
Tall cranes and film equipment were focused on a house in Badingham Drive for the filming of ‘The Good Liar’.
The new film will see Oscar winning actress Helen Mirren and two-time Oscar nominee Ian McKellen paired together for the first time.
McKellen will play a professional con artist Roy Courtnay who can hardly believe his luck when he meets well-to-do Betty McLeish (Helen Mirren) online. He is surprised to find himself caring about her as she opens her home and life to him, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life.
‘The Good Liar’, A New Line Cinema production also stars Jim Carter (of ‘Downtown Abbey’ fame) and Russell Tovey (TV’s ‘Quantico’).
Oscar-winning screenwriter Bill Condon will direct and produce from a screenplay by Jeffrey Hatcher based on the acclaimed book by Nicholas Searle.
It is believed that filming of ‘The Good Liar’ has just started and will continue to film on location in London and Berlin.
It is set for release in 2019.
