I do love a piece of gadgetry. Especially if it says it will make my skin look good.
Cushion Foundations are a new concept. Or, at least, they are fairly new, having swept through beauty counters like a long red carpet unfurled in one swift movement last year.
Dior Forever Cushion Foundation was my first cushion-choice, based on the reputation of their ever-popular Dior Forever liquid foundation.
It was a very satisfying process, unravelling the many layers that make up this cute compact…
And when you arrive at the product, it’s a strange feeling.
At once it looks like an upturned cork, an impossibly miniature natural sea sponge, or a close up of horrifyingly pored skin… Thankfully we can brush aside that latter image!
It is a great foundation with good coverage.
I’m glad I’ve got it for the summer months as the lightest shade (010) shows up as a nice (if slightly ambitiously deep) colour on my very pale skin. And it’s self-sufficient as makeup for travelling, with a mirror and sponge neatly built in.
