A quick trip to the Isle of Wight is just what October ordered.
When we first arrived we were keen to explore our new town: Ventnor in the south of the island.
The hilly and winding roads hug the sea, always in sight and rocking back and forth in our ears…
I’m always so drawn to a moody, dramatic sky, full of weight and light…
Obviously I couldn’t help but do a little speculative house hunting…
These bright houses sitting proudly at the top command the greatest view.
But go a little further in land and you’ll be greeted with Victorian villas on every corner.
Or opt for a flush passionate pink house (and matching car!)
And it was time for dinner back at the hotel to prepare for a busy day tomorrow.
We stayed at The Royal Hotel – a wonderful and truly welcoming hotel with great food.
When we got to our rooms we were absolutely delighted to find a lovely surprise: a bottle of champagne and a card, sent from my grandparentsThe Beatles and Beyond Don Short!
Our room even had a sea view!
Blush pink pussy bow blouse is from the lovely ‘Somerset’ by Alice Temperley range at John Lewis (ahem bought for half price in the sale last year) although I see there is a very similar one this year here.
