What to wear on spectacularly dreary Autumn days is a point to ponder. In times of sartorial uncertainty (and when I need to smile) I consult my homemade book of fashion maxims written by yours truly, c. 15 years ago. It tells me: ‘Grey weather does not mean we forgo style’. Not a greatly poetic line, but we’ll take it, as it’s certainly workable.
When White Stuff asked me if I fancied picking a few pieces following my visit to their new Guildford store, I swooned with joy at the opportunity to work a little style into a grey November Sunday!
I picked a few favourite things from their new collection and headed out, starting with the chic and warm Stargazer Jumper (composed of delicious marmalading materials like cashmere and lambswool.)
You know how I love to get my trotters on anything navy! (Although it also comes in a lighter shade of blue.)
I particularly liked the sweet little pockets at the bottom.
A real wardrobe staple is a red skirt, and this is such a pretty one with a lovely floral embroidery detail at the bottom.
For days when black seems a little too harsh, this textured dark grey coat is great company. With a high wool content, it’s nice and cosy toasty, in a very flattering shape and length.
I’m sure you’ve spotted the blue boots…
The most perfect ankle boots! SO comfortable with an elegant small heel for all smart / casual occasions your Autumn will throw at you.
I have a soft spot for this soft patterned scarf.
Isn’t it wonderful? In a luxurious wool and cotton blend (I always make a point of inspecting materials) you’ll want to wrap it all around you.
I’ll be posting another fashion feature this week to show an evening look so stay tuned!
Many thanks to White Stuff for kindly providing me with the clothes and accessories for this feature.
