I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I didn’t mention Surrey’s most famous fireworks display: The Brockham Bonfire extravaganza.
Every year between 13000 – 17000 people wrap up in their warmest coats, scarves and bobble hats that bob and bob, and huddle around a roaring bonfire on a quaint village green, as the beautiful Surrey Hills, surrounding historic houses and church watch on.
It’s a community–focused event – rather than buying tickets you can sponsor fireworks and leave short sponsor messages which then get announced over the PA system on the night! The voluntary entry fee of £3 is donated to local charities, societies and worthy causes.
Brockham Bonfire is on Saturday 8th November: the bonfire is lit at 7.45pm and the fireworks display starts at 8.15pm. More information on the Brockham Bonfire can be found on their website here.
