One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to go book shopping from my own bookshelves. I know I’m not the only one guilty of buying more books when there are plenty at home unread?
Here are some of mine:
Ian McEwan Atonement.
Luckily I haven’t seen the film adaption so I’ll be able to go into this with fresh eyes.
Robert Graves Goodbye to All That.
An important memoir that I can’t wait to start reading.
A.M. Homes This Book Will Save Your Life.
I really enjoyed ‘May We Be Forgiven‘ and ‘Days of Awe‘ so reading this should be great!
Gabriel Garcia Marquez One Hundred Years of Solitude.
So many people have told me to read this book, and every time I reply: ‘Yes, I have it at home! I just haven’t read it yet…’ I love writing in the style of magical realism, so there is no excuse for not reading this book!
Obviously I know I will be buying many books but it’s a good, frugal start to the year! Now, where do I begin?
PS I’ve updated my Books page on my Instagram Story Highlights, so feel free to check that out!
PPS If you are in the market for a new book, then I highly recommend a new journalism memoir called ‘The Beatles and Beyond‘, available to preorder now. I was lucky enough to be involved in helping him put it together and research it, so I know you’ll love it!
