Summer 2017 Books To Read

Summer 2017 Reads

On my summer reading list:

Summer 2017 Reads

Tin Man by Sarah Winman (Tinder Press)

Confession: I have already finished reading Tin Man! It’s about the stories we tell ourselves about our lives, and how we tell them; love, and its complications and different colours; growing up; family, friendship, and how relationships become intertwined. The dual narration and sweeping time leaps make for an interesting method of story telling, through and through. Happy Publication Day today!

To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf

I know I read this at university but I am looking forward to the opportunity to re-read this by one of my favourite writers!

When We Were Orphans by Kazuo Ishiguro

I bought this years ago and it has been staring at me from my bookshelf every time I reach for a new read… I loved Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go so I’m excited to read this one.

Point of Departure by James Cameron

The journalist in me is particularly looking forward to reading the memoirs of British journalist James Cameron.

Notes from a Big Country by Bill Bryson

Memoirs from a journalist with a different flavour. I’ve read a few chapters / articles already and could hardly control my laughter!
